New York Magazine has aninteresting article about the "locavore" movement, or eating food only grown within a few miles of where we live, drawing on movement written about by Michael Pollan's book, The Omnivore's Dilema: A Natural History of Four Meals and Barbara Kingsolver's memoir who Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, about living off food the family grew.

The "locavore" movement says we should only eat what is grown within a few miles of where we live. How about a few feet? An experiment in Brooklyn-style subsistence farming, starring smelly chickens, an angry rabbit, a freak tornado, a vegetable garden to die for, two psyched kids, and a marriage in the weeds.ยท By Manny Howard
