Bad Ideas: Slow, Easy, Cheap and Crazy in Cobble Hill?

1_slow.jpg

A friend on the south side of Williamsburg watched her neighbors spruce up their backyard by spray painting a dead tree green and rolling out some astroturf. These spray painted tires used as planters, featured in the New York Times article Slow, Easy, Cheap and Green seem right up there with the South Williamsburg aesthetic.

Then there's this cry for help in Cobble Hill Brooklyn. I get a kick out of seasonal displays in front yards there, and I like the old neighborhood feel to Virgin Mary grottos, but it seems that art has crossed the line into madness in this front yard display.

Hey, wait just a minute here; isn't that yard situation to be found in Carroll Gardens, not Cobble Hill?
