
Perhaps we need to accept that rats are part of our urban ecology and maybe they do add something beneficial in community gardens. But last time the greens were ready for salad, at the CHEFS garden, the rats ate them down to the ground. So we have attempted to create a rat fence, (this picture shows it in progress) and in the non-communal, community garden sense, know that it won't keep rats out, but might make it a little harder, so they go to the next person's planting bed...
