NYT: Making a Small Outdoor Space Work

Making a Small Outdoor Space Work

An interesting article for urban gardeners in the New York Times today.

Some of the tips for creating a garden in a small space are:

Simplicity
Forethought
Use big rather than small plants

Pull Quote:

"You might think you should use small plants in a small garden, but that will only add to the clutter. "In a small garden there's one place you can go big, and that's with plants," said Van-Martin Rowe, a landscape designer in Pasadena, Calif.

(I would also add avoiding garden art/ornaments. You just trip over them in small spaces.)
