A Racoon Ate My Fig

I had just one, tiny little fig on my new Violette de Bordeaux tree, and I was waiting to pick it until the skin was starting to crack a little and it was perfectly ripe. Then one night I looked outside to see a raccoon staring right in the house at me. Again, he seemed pretty fearless, even when I stomped my feet and started telling him to "shoo".

The next day the one, tiny perfect fig was gone...

Oh nooooo, that's awful! I think it was groundhogs helping themselves to a salad diet all summer from my garden patch. So frustrating!
